Delayed Invoices

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

We had a bit of a mix-up with the automation settings of our client area and as a result, recurring invoices were not being generated for roughly two weeks. This problem has just been resolved and invoices were successfully generated for everyone affected. If you have an invoice that’s overdue or due very soon, please don’t worry. You have an extra 7 days after the invoice due date to make the payment. This mostly affects a few of our older customers on monthly billing cycles.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and will make sure that this doesn’t happen again. Thank you.

Installatron Script Installer Added!

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

We’ve got another new feature ready for you guys to use. Installatron, a powerful and full-featured script management system (install, upgrade, etc.) has just been added to our servers. This is essentially the DirectAdmin equivalent of Fantastico on cPanel-based servers, but with a lot more features. There is now a huge list of popular web applications/scripts such as WordPress, Joomla, SMF, Mediawiki, Drupal, and so many more that you can install in one click through Installatron. You will be auto-notified through email of new software updates, which you can do directly through Installatron’s interface. You can even import your current scripts as long as they’re supported into Installatron’s system to manage. Installation/updating of your favorite web scripts has never been easier.

For current customers, you’ll find Installatron Script Installer under Advanced Features in DirectAdmin. Let us know what you think and enjoy!

DirectAdmin Welcome Emails Fixed

Friday, August 8th, 2008

You might or might not have noticed this, but apparentely the default email template for DirectAdmin’s welcome email with your account information had two of the links pointed to the wrong URLs.

The Control Panel URLs (with the IP and your domain) in the email template have now been fixed. Future customers will now receive the correct URLs. For current customers, we apologize for the possible confusion and hope it was not a major inconvenience.

Moved to Paris

Monday, August 4th, 2008

As promised in my earlier comment on the server migration post, here’s the recap of the migration and where we stand now. Everyone has been migrated to the new server and I personally verified that all data was transferred over. We will be disconnecting theta (our old server) later today if nothing else comes up. Aside from a few minor issues that popped up, the migration was relatively painless aside from the DNS propagation, which should be finished by now.

All customers are now placed on paris.vectorlevel.com, which has an upgraded CPU (Intel Core 2 Duo E8300 @ 2.83GHZ) thanks to our provider and a newly rebuilt RAID array for ultimate speed and security. Our new server naming scheme is now based on cities around the world that stand out to us and we’re starting off with Paris, France.

With this maintenance (which will not happen again for well into the forseeable future) out of the way, we can go back to focusing on developing our hosting solutions and bringing something new to the industry.
